Good Morning and welcome to Day 11 of our "12 Nights" Giveaway! Details on how to enter can be found at the end of this post. Today, we're talking about favorite gifts!
The gifts children give during the holidays can be especially fun. There were years when we would raid our mom's sewing/craft closet and make anything we could think of: crooked pillows, bean bags (everyone needs those), play dough containers, or the beloved painted paper weight!
Yesterday our family got the best Christmas gift, our new niece! Well done K80 and Jordan (especially K80). She is gorgeous. It is amazing what a miracle a new life is. Our Christmas feels complete now that she is out to be with the rest of her family.
DIY gifts can be wonderful but the total surprise gift can be exciting as well. Do you have a favorite gift that comes to mind from your child, spouse, friend, or family member?
Speaking of gifts, today we are giving an extra lucky winner, a special gift. One of our custom Snapdragon pillow cases! It's a lovely color and the perfect feature pillow that pops!

My first Christmas present (8 years ago) from my husband was a sweet, sweet dog named Baby Bear. He was a 3 year old shetland sheepdog/husky mix that we adopted from the Adirondack Humane Society (our first child). It was definitely a surprise gift because I always thought that my husband would be too allergic to have a dog in the house. He however, was willing to take a chance on my behalf and thank goodness it turned out just fine. We had 8 wonderful years with Baby Bear and he joined us on countless backpacking trips in the green and white mountains (even carried his own backpack). This will be our first Christmas without him though for he passed on in October and has a final resting spot in our backyard. He was definitely the best surprise gift I ever could have gotten :)
I love the gifts my little ones make for me....They are so proud to wrap them up in construction paper and put the under our tree. I usually get some sort of home made ornament that hangs on the tree for years.

Homemade gifts are great, but don't compare to the gifts from our Father above. Congrats on your new blessing, K80 and Jordan! She's absolutely beautiful
What a sweet baby girl! Congrats to the whole family!
congratulations!
So cute! Congratulations!
Congratulations! We had our own holiday baby two years ago. Snuggling a new baby makes Christmas even more special.
How wonderful - a new baby in the household! Hugs to K80...
Handmade gifts are the best - I still have the recipe holder my daughter made for me when she was in 3rd grade...she's 34 now!!
Congrats to K80 and Jordan! She's beautiful. Name??
One of my favorite Christmases was when our family left Houston, Texas to move to Cornish, New Hampshire. It was a very hard time financially and we said we'd have a "lean" Christmas. It turned out to be the best Christmas ever as a child since all our gifts were homemade. I especially remember homemade doll cribs and furniture and dolls bought at a craft fair. The fact that the gifts were homemade made them all the more special and memorable.
My first son was born on Dec. 14th and was a very special Christmas gift!
There are a few gifts that I remember loving and cherishing dearly as a child. One was a baby doll that I carried with me all the time as well as the blankets that my mother crochet for me. However a surprise trip to New Zealand to go and visit my aunt was by far my ultimate Christmas gift to date.
congratulation K80 and Jordan!!! She is gorgeous!
